Exhibition "Night on Earth"

On Saturday, March 12th, the exhibition "Night on Earth" by artist Jasmina Kosanović opened to the public at the Kranjčar Gallery in Zagreb. The exhibition will remain open until March 19th, and admission is free for visitors.

The occasion for the exhibition is the picture book by the renowned puppeteer and illustrator, Jasmina Kosanović, published by Mala zvona. The picture book, along with a complementary puppet exhibition, was presented to the public on Saturday, March 12th, at 6:00 PM at the Kranjčar Gallery. The presentation was attended by the author, Jasmina Kosanović, and the book's editor, Sanja Lovrenčić.

In her debut picture book, Jasmina Kosanović invites the youngest readers - and adults who read with them - on a journey through the wondrous spaces of the night. With few words and an abundance of visual details, the author creates a series of scenes that are not exhausted with a single glance. In the dormant spaces of an old city, a room, a forest, or the sea, someone is always awake and moving about with their mysterious tasks. Who is the woman in the red dress walking through the forest with a lantern, what is that one-legged house in the distance, what kind of ceremony is taking place where a black cat and a white mouse are having tea - and what do those animals dream in their burrows? Each lavishly illustrated page opens up new possibilities for storytelling, inviting readers into both imaginary and real, mysterious and intimate spaces, guiding the young reader with their various blue lights towards the edges of fairy tales and dreams.
